Job Description
The Applications Engineer is responsible for isting with proper sizing and selection of system components and all aspects of bidding on a project including labor and material requirements for mechanical and electrical systems. Systems typically include mechanical equipment pumps valves instrumentation and fabrication of process piping and structural skids for modularized systems etc. Custody transfer oil and gas measurement knowledge is a plus. This role is responsible for increasing profitability through project management.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing cost estimates for bids and contract revisions
Create a Bill of Materials and proposals
Perform preliminary sizing and component selection on systems per project requirements
Participation in the administration of bids inquiry doents scope of work and schedules related to the job
Collaborate with customers vendors and other personnel in defining the scope of work and specifications
Apply industry standards and codes to all job specifications
Once the project is awarded ist with technical compliance during the build
Perform other duties as igned to support Engineering/Design department
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Qualifications:
5 yrs. experience in an application engineering position or equivalent handson field experience with fabricated equipment
Knowledge of fabrication piping structural and packaged systems is required
Knowledge of API standards ASME codes and measurement systems
Electrical and instrumentation knowledge is a plus
Proficient in reading specs drawings AML's and P&ID's
Proficient knowledge in industry standards
Experience and knowledge of industrial/mechanical/chemical processes and equipment required.
Experience in translating design concepts to commercialization is required and demonstrated success with frontend innovation is strongly preferred.
Highly Proficient in SolidWorks preferred.
Familiarity with FEA preferred.
Knowledge of applicable industry codes & standards such as ASME API NEC is required.
Knowledge of oil and gas measurement principles and API standards is a plus
Proficient in MS Office with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Strong organization and planning ss
Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail
