Unit: Inpatient Rehab

Building: Main 4E

General Information

Unit Specifics:

Number of Beds : 35

Patient Ratios :57:1

Unit staffing description (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Techs per census usually 24

Type of equipment : Vitals machine Baxter IV pumps SCDs Bladder scanner

Documentation system: Meditech

Scheduling requirements: 12 hr shifts every other weekend

Floating policy: may be floated to other Med Surg depts.

Patient Experience requirements: Rehab experience preferred

Hiring Profile

Must have:

Med/Surg or PCU experience

BLS and VA License

Preferred:

Rehab experience

Advanced skills needed: none

Procedures performed on unit: Med administration to include IVs PICC PEG tube admin; Bladder scans Trach care Tube feeding Foley cath Bladder irrigation Blood Administration

Dress Code:

Navy blue or white solid scrubs

Opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to include Nursing Physical therapy Occupational Therapy Speech therapy Physiatrist and Physician Assistant and Neuropsychologist to impact patient functional improvements and achieve patient goals for functional independence.
