Summary:
Due to our continued growth Exceed is seeking neurocritical care fellowship trained BC/BE Neurointensivists to join our growing Neuroscience Program in Oklahoma City. The Exceed neuroscience team currently consists of 7 neurointensivist physicians neurology and neurocritical care APPs neurohospitalists as well as several neurophysiologists. Successful candidates will join the team in providing care in a growing and dedicated neurocritical care unit at a comprehensive stroke center with a growing neurosurgical program.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies risk factors pathophysiology and presentation of acute medical conditions e.g. stroke transient ischemic attack and seizures.
Demonstrates and uses critical thinking skills to synthesize and analyze patient data.
Performs a comprehensive or problemfocused history and physical assessment for critically ill adult patients that is accurate and complete.
Orders collects and correctly interprets and evaluates laboratory and/or other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
Prescribes and manages pharmacologic agents and/or other treatment modalities with attention to efficacy and safety.
Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomesbased treatment plans using the patient assessment evidencebased medicine standards of care professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team when appropriate.
Evaluates patient responsiveness to treatment therapies and adjusts the treatment plan as indicated.
Initiates timely consultation and referral including with the collaborating physician based on the needs of the patient.
Facilitates and maintains ongoing communication with the patient family and/or health care team members.
Counsels and educates patients and families regarding medical processes and treatment.
Maintains accurate complete and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Actively involved in teaching and training of Advanced Practice providers and or residents.
Completes timely and accurate billing that is corroborated with the medical record.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary teams to ensure multidisciplinary rounds are completed with understanding and explanations provided for treatment modalities and therapies.
