Roles and responsibilities
1. Surveillance Monitoring:
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Continuously monitor video feeds from multiple security cameras, ensuring proper functioning and identifying any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Identify Threats: Actively look for potential security threats or suspicious behaviors such as theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access, and take appropriate action.
- Track Movements: Observe the movement of people, vehicles, and objects within the facility or premises. Pay attention to any unusual patterns or activities that may require further investigation.
- Alert Security Personnel: Immediately inform security personnel or management if any suspicious or concerning activities are detected. Provide real-time information to assist with investigations or interventions.
2. Camera and Equipment Operation:
- Operate Surveillance Cameras: Control and operate security cameras, including PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, to track individuals or areas of interest in the surveillance zone.
- Adjust Camera Settings: Ensure that cameras are properly positioned, with clear visibility and correct focus. Adjust angles, zoom, and lighting to capture the best footage.
- Monitor Equipment Functionality: Regularly check the condition of surveillance equipment, including cameras, monitors, and recording devices, to ensure they are operating correctly.
- Maintain Log Records: Document the status of cameras and equipment, including any issues, maintenance needs, or malfunctions. Keep records of repairs or technical support interventions.
3. Incident Documentation and Reporting:
- Document Events: Accurately record any incidents or suspicious activities that are observed on the camera system, including date, time, and nature of the event.
- Create Incident Reports: Prepare detailed reports for management or law enforcement regarding significant incidents, including footage if necessary, to assist with investigations.
- Store and Retrieve Footage: Safely store surveillance footage as required by company policy or legal guidelines. Ensure that footage is readily accessible for review or sharing with appropriate authorities.
- Review Footage: When necessary, review recorded footage to help identify the cause of an incident or provide evidence for investigations. This may include reviewing archived footage for specific timeframes.
4. Collaboration with Security Teams:
- Coordinate with Security Personnel: Work closely with on-site security officers to provide them with real-time information about suspicious activities or security threats. Assist them in identifying targets or locations to investigate further.
- Provide Support during Emergencies: In case of an emergency, such as a security breach, fire, or medical emergency, support the security team by providing information, guiding them to the location of the incident, or tracking suspects.
- Assist in Crowd Control: During large events or busy times, assist security teams in monitoring crowd movements and managing crowd control to prevent incidents from occurring.
5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Routine Camera Inspections: Conduct regular checks of all security cameras to ensure they are functioning properly. Report any issues, malfunctions, or damaged equipment to the maintenance team for prompt repair.
