Roles and responsibilities
1. Supervision of Security Personnel:
- Team Management: Lead, manage, and supervise security guards or officers, ensuring that they perform their duties effectively and follow established security protocols.
- Staff Scheduling: Organize and manage work shifts to ensure proper coverage during all hours of operation, including weekends and holidays.
- Training and Development: Train security staff on policies, procedures, emergency protocols, and customer service. Conduct regular drills and refresher courses to maintain operational readiness.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of security staff through daily inspections, reviewing incident reports, and assessing their adherence to security procedures. Provide guidance, feedback, and corrective actions as needed.
2. Security Operations and Protocols:
- Implement Security Policies: Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring they are in compliance with local regulations, company standards, and best practices. Regularly review and update protocols.
- Facility Patrols: Supervise the patrolling of premises to monitor for any suspicious activity, ensuring that all areas are secure. This may include surveillance, checking security systems, and physical patrols of key areas like entrances, exits, parking lots, and back areas.
- Access Control: Oversee the implementation of access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises. This may involve managing ID checks, entry logs, and visitor protocols.
- Surveillance Systems: Monitor and maintain security surveillance systems (e.g., CCTV cameras) to ensure continuous monitoring of the premises. Review footage when necessary to investigate incidents or breaches.
3. Emergency Response and Incident Management:
- Emergency Situations: Act as the first point of contact during emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, security breaches, or natural disasters. Ensure the safety of personnel and visitors and coordinate with emergency responders as necessary.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate security incidents, including theft, vandalism, or workplace violence. Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare detailed incident reports. Ensure all incidents are documented properly.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management plans to address potential security risks or emergency situations, including evacuation plans, first-aid responses, and communication strategies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed reports of incidents, accidents, or security breaches to upper management, including findings, actions taken, and preventive measures.
