Roles and responsibilities
Team Management and Supervision:
- Staff Leadership: Supervise a team of sales associates, technical staff, and support staff within the electrical appliances department. Provide guidance, motivation, and support to ensure a high level of team performance.
- Training and Development: Train new employees and conduct regular training sessions for existing staff to improve product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
- Scheduling: Manage the work schedules for the team, ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours and holidays. Oversee shift planning to ensure efficient departmental operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance appraisals. Set clear performance targets and goals, ensuring the team meets sales and customer service objectives.
2. Inventory Management:
- Stock Monitoring: Oversee the inventory of electrical appliances, ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and products are properly organized. Work closely with inventory managers or stock clerks to replenish stock as needed.
- Product Stocking: Ensure that products are properly displayed and stored, both in the store and in the backroom, maintaining a visually appealing layout that attracts customers.
- Stock Audits: Conduct regular stock checks and inventory audits to ensure accurate product counts and identify any discrepancies. Work with suppliers to reorder products in a timely manner.
- Product Rotation: Ensure the proper rotation of stock to avoid outdated or damaged products. Use the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure older stock is sold first.
3. Sales and Customer Service:
- Sales Target Achievement: Ensure that the electrical appliances department meets or exceeds monthly and quarterly sales targets. Implement sales strategies and monitor performance against targets.
- Customer Engagement: Assist customers with their inquiries, offering expert advice on products and solutions based on their needs. Provide product demonstrations and walk customers through appliance features and benefits.
- Customer Satisfaction: Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Upselling and Cross-Selling: Encourage sales staff to upsell higher-end models, extended warranties, installation services, and complementary products such as accessories or replacement parts.
