Job Description
The Certified Surgical Technologist (Operating Room) is responsible for assisting the surgical team in the operating room during surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of technical skill attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room for surgery including setting up equipment and supplies
-
Assist the surgeon with surgical procedures including passing instruments and retracting tissues
-
Monitor the patients vital signs and report any changes to the surgeon
-
Ensure that all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and maintained
-
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room
-
Adhere to all hospital and regulatory policies and procedures
Qualifications:
-
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
-
Minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting

Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in emergency situations

Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely

Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
