Silicon IP Characterization/SERDES Validation Engineer
Typical Day in the Role:
As a member of the Silicon Team youll contribute to the development of cuttingedge consumer electronic devices and cloud computing solutions. This role focuses on designing validating and characterizing highperformance mixedsignal ASICs using advanced CMOS technology. You will work in a collaborative environment interacting with crossfunctional teams to deliver innovative products.
Responsibilities:
- Bring up validate and characterize highspeed D2D and SERDES blocks in both new and existing silicon chips.
- Develop test methods to evaluate the performance and operating margins of highspeed serial interfaces under various conditions.
- Collaborate with design teams to enhance testability and define test infrastructure logic.
- Write software routines in Python or C/C to validate D2D and SERDES IPs and support driver integration with software teams.
- Analyze test results to generate insights and recommendations documenting findings in comprehensive reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience working with D2D and SERDES platforms.
- Proficient knowledge of highspeed D2D and SERDES architectures (e.g. NRZ PAM4) and protocols.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes spectrum Analyzers and BERTs.
- Strong debugging and problemsolving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SERDES calibration and understanding of signal integrity.
- Familiarity with highspeed protocols like UCIe Ethernet and PCIe.
- Ability to analyze boundary conditions and produce detailed test reports.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required:
- 8 years of experience with bring up validation and characterization of highspeed D2D and SERDES blocks.
- 8 years of experience developing test methods to evaluate performance and operating margins of highspeed serial interfaces.
- 8 years of experience writing software routines in Python C/C to validate D2D and SERDES IPs and collaborating with software teams for driver integration.
