Job Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe effective patientcentered timely efficient and equitable care of patients. *Provides direct patient care by assessing planning implementing evaluating and documenting individual patient needs actions taken and patient responses. *Coordinates patients care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. *Initiates utilizes and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. *Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. *Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care. *Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and nonlicensed assistive personnel. *Completes patient population/agespecific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards. Must be a team player flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. This is a 13week contract assignment and requires at least one 13week previous travel assignment and two (2) years current experience required in specialty. Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required and must be completed through American Heart Association American Health and Safety or American Red Cross. Shifts: 12hour Day/Night/Varied Shift; start time . Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. On call weekends and holidays may be required per staff rotation. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. Position will float to other areas as needed within scope of practice. EMR: EPIC experience preferred but not required; can train onsite. Orientation: 1st week of the contract not to exceed 40 total hours and includes EPIC training. Scrubs: Required and not provided by the facility. May wear ANY solid color. The scrub top pant and jacket (if worn) must be the same solid color to match.
