Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Real Estate Officer (Operations Officer II NCS)

Location: Concord NC

Employment Type: Fulltime

Job Description:

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Real Estate Officer to join the Office of the Comptroller. This position is a noncivil service role within the Comptrollers Office of Real Estate where you will work to support real estate transactions and improve government processes. In this role you will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and facilitate the purchase sale lease and management of City properties. Your efforts will directly support the citys goal of enhancing transparency accountability and efficiency in real estate dealings.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Provide advice and support to the Deputy Director and Director of Real Estate. Manage a portfolio of real estate transactions (acquisitions leases dispositions).
  • Negotiation and Consultation: Negotiate terms and provide guidance on real property transactions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Transaction Support: Analyze and draft reports decision memos and provide recommendations for real estate transactions. Collaborate with City Law and other departments to ensure the Citys interests are safeguarded.
  • Real Estate Operations: Oversee lease renewals amendments and tax certificate sales. Prepare reports and lease abstracts.
  • Public and Community Engagement: Work with the Policy/Communication Team to communicate about real estate projects and transactions ensuring transparency with the public and city councils.
  • Operational Support: Manage the real estate inventory ensuring it aligns with strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in public/private economic development property management or real estate development. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Experience with commercial leasing project budget management and property management is a plus. Proficiency in verbal and written communication is required.
