We are seeking an Animal Caretaker 3 for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Baltimore MD.

What you will do
In the Animal Care Technician 3 role you will perform animal husbandry duties including but not limited to preparation and actual changing of animal cages and related cage accessories of small and large animals feeding and manual watering or monitoring/ testing automatic watering devices independent of supervision.
In addition you will conduct all work assignments in accordance with guidelines established by federal state and local regulatory agencies and NIDA SOP and specific protocol instructions.
You will also need to maintain accurate records of things like animal breeding and housing or support areas and you may also be tasked with receiving inspecting and housing incoming animals. You may assist with restraint handling and manipulation of animal species and you may become involved in the breeding and weaning procedures. Other duties may include monitoring personnel and equipment entry into various rooms as well as operating required equipment and general housekeeping when required.
Candidate must possess a HS diploma or GED equivalency required.
Must have 3 5 years related experience in animal care with at least 1 year working with laboratory animal species most applicable rodents and nonhuman primates preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed
Certification/Licensure: ALAT or LAT certification at hire preferred. ALAT within one year of hire required.
