Job Description
My Client is a market leading custom moulder in rigid plastics that started supplying rigid plastic articles to the South African market in 1972. From humble beginnings the company has grown intoone of the leading players in their industry.
They are currently in the process of recruiting for a Designer & Developer of Moulds for Rigid Plastic Product Manufacturing at the head office in Ottery
> CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN CAPE TOWN
> CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE WITHIN EASY TRAVELLING DISTANCE TO OTTERY (Southern Subs) CAPE TOWN
> Must have own reliable transport

The ideal candidate needs experience in
- Mould design particularly within a Toolroom environment
- And possess strong expertise in blow moulding and injection moulding design.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and develop moulds for rigid plastic product manufacturing.
- Manage complete projects from concept to industrialization.
- Design components as per briefs and advise on material choice and functionality.
- Manage mould trials and provide all relevant information to trial staff.
- Participate in sourcing mould components.
- Collaborate closely with toolmakers during all phases of mould manufacturing.
- Maintain and update the mould/drawing database.
- Troubleshoot component and mould issues.
- Manage various technical projects related to toolroom and production improvements.
- Initiate or participate in projects.
Prerequisites:
- Experience in mould design within a Toolroom environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of both blow moulding and injection moulding processes.
