Job Description

Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has openings for a Registered Nurse. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Republic WA 99166

Assignment Start Date: 11/13/2024

13 weeks Nights 12hour shift 36 hours per week guaranteed

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency acute care outpatient and swing bed care settings. Provides care that reflects initiative flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Can triage patients safely rapidly and accurately when they enter the emergency care department. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicate with the attending provider about changes in the patients status symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct patient care evaluates outcomes consults with other staff as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Completes orientation packet and checklist as assigned.
  • Cross trains to learn the use of any new equipment.
  • Ability to perform a headtotoe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
  • Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. Documents pain assessments and reassessments consistently in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ability to monitor the hemodynamic status of the patient and correctly interpret results.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately.
  • Ability to perform waived testing (pointofcare testing) per the Clinical Laboratorys and the patient care units policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret the results of waived tests; take appropriate action on waived test results.
  • Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
  • Follows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
  • Prepares hangs monitors and discontinues IV fluids with aseptic technique
  • Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories conditions treatments responses and assessment of changes.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Follows Provider orders from the electronic medical record consistently.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial cultural ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Functions as liaison between administration patients physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide ageappropriate care to the patients served.
  • Able to interpret data about the patients status to identify each patients agespecific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group.
  • Interacts professionally with patient and family and involves patient and family in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Checks hospital email and Qliq account throughout the work day.
  • Completes all mandatory education within a given timeframe.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community.
  • Attends annual review and department inservices as scheduled.
  • Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; reviews all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Actively participates in the departments quality improvement (QI) activities.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employee handbook.
  • Communicates the mission vision and values of the organization as well as the focus of the department.
  • Meets dress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean.
  • All employees are required to maintain confidentiality following organizational policy and state and federal regulations including not but limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • Must have ER experience

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

  • Current RN license within the state of WA.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification.
  • AHA ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
  • TNCC within six (6) months of hire
  • NRP within 1 year of hire.
  • AHA PALS within six (6) months of hire.

EMR System: Meditech knowledge/experience preferred.

Shift: Nights; If they work 36 hours they will be paid 36 hours. If they leave early or take a day off they will not be paid for time not worked.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers patients customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
