Roles and responsibilities
1. Supervising Electrical and Instrumentation Operations
- Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of electrical and instrumentation technicians, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Work Assignment: Allocate tasks to team members based on skill level and workload, ensuring an efficient division of labor.
- Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff and ensure that team members are aware of and adhere to all safety and operational procedures.
2. Installation and Commissioning
- Equipment Installation: Supervise the installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including sensors, control systems, and safety systems, ensuring they meet project specifications.
- Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning of new electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring that all systems are calibrated, functional, and integrated with the overall control system.
- System Testing: Supervise testing procedures to verify that equipment is installed and functioning correctly, troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing.
3. Maintenance and Repair
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure longevity and reliability. This includes routine inspections and calibration of instruments, sensors, and controllers.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults, providing solutions and overseeing the repair and restoration of systems. Ensure minimal downtime by coordinating quick and effective fixes.
- Corrective Actions: Investigate any faults, breakdowns, or deviations from normal operation and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
4. System Calibration and Performance Optimization
- Calibration: Supervise the calibration of instruments such as pressure sensors, temperature gauges, flow meters, and controllers to ensure accurate readings and system performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze system performance to identify potential issues and optimize system efficiency, ensuring that electrical and instrumentation systems function within their designed parameters.
