Roles and responsibilities
1. Team Supervision and Staff Management
- Staff Oversight: Supervise and manage a team of employees within the home appliances department or section, ensuring that staff follow company procedures and maintain high levels of productivity and service.
- Scheduling and Shift Management: Create and manage employee schedules to ensure the department is adequately staffed during peak hours or sales periods.
- Training and Development: Provide training on product knowledge, customer service, safety protocols, and sales techniques to new and existing staff. Ensure employees are up-to-date with the latest product lines and technological advancements in appliances.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff, providing feedback, setting goals, and addressing any performance issues or concerns.
2. Inventory Management and Stock Control
- Inventory Supervision: Oversee the inventory of home appliances, ensuring stock levels are maintained appropriately, and products are reordered as necessary. Work with purchasing or procurement departments to manage supply chain needs.
- Product Display: Ensure that home appliances are displayed in an appealing, organized, and accessible manner. Regularly update displays to reflect new products or seasonal promotions.
- Stocktaking: Conduct regular stock checks, managing discrepancies, tracking sales trends, and ensuring that inventory records are accurate.
- Merchandising: Collaborate with marketing and visual merchandising teams to ensure products are displayed effectively, highlighting key features and driving sales.
3. Sales and Customer Service
- Sales Support: Assist the sales team in achieving sales targets by guiding customers through their product selections and providing in-depth product knowledge. Encourage upselling and cross-selling of complementary products.
- Customer Assistance: Address customer inquiries, assist with product selections, and handle complaints or issues related to appliance purchases, returns, or service. Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving concerns quickly and professionally.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct demonstrations of home appliances to educate customers about product features, benefits, and usage, ensuring they understand how to operate the appliances safely and efficiently.
- Sales Analysis: Monitor sales performance within the department, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to implement strategies to increase sales and meet targets.
