Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

System Design & Implementation:

Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Oracle Hyperion/EPM solutions, including Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Financial Management (HFM), Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM), and Hyperion Reporting.

Implement custom integrations between Hyperion products and third-party applications (e.g., ERP systems, databases, data warehouses).

Provide technical expertise for all phases of the project lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go-live.

Technical Development:

Develop and manage application configurations, calculations, and scripting (e.g., Essbase, calculation scripts, Data Forms).

Customize Oracle Hyperion applications to meet client-specific business needs, ensuring optimal system performance.

Perform data loading and extraction tasks using EPM Automate, FDMEE, or other relevant tools.

Troubleshooting & Support:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Hyperion/EPM applications to ensure smooth operations and resolve system issues.

Perform root-cause analysis of issues related to Hyperion applications, providing timely resolutions to prevent downtime.

Assist in the deployment of patches, upgrades, and new releases of Oracle Hyperion applications.

System Integration:

Ensure successful integration of Oracle Hyperion applications with external systems, including financial systems, data sources, and other enterprise applications.

Develop and manage integrations using EPM Integrator, ODI (Oracle Data Integrator), and other ETL tools.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure that technical solutions align with business requirements and objectives.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and provide status updates on project progress.

Documentation & Training:

Document technical designs, configurations, and system processes.

Assist in the development of training materials and provide end-user training on Oracle Hyperion/EPM functionality.


Desired candidate profile

. Technical Expertise

  • Oracle Technologies: Strong understanding of Oracle’s suite of applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Cloud, Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic, and Oracle Middleware.
  • Database Management: Expertise in Oracle Database Administration (DBA), including skills in SQL, PL/SQL, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and data security.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in PL/SQL, Java, XML, JavaScript, or other languages typically used for Oracle customizations and integrations.
  • Oracle Forms and Reports: Experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle’s development tools to build and customize enterprise applications.
  • Application Server Technologies: Familiarity with Oracle’s application servers (e.g., Oracle WebLogic) and how they integrate with Oracle databases and applications.
  • Middleware and Cloud: Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Integration Cloud, and other Oracle cloud-based technologies for integration and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

2. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting

  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot technical issues related to Oracle systems, databases, and applications.
  • Ability to identify the root cause of problems and propose practical solutions that ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

3. Project Management and Communication

  • Project Management Skills: Experience managing or contributing to Oracle implementation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders, project managers, and clients. Clear documentation and reporting are essential.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, collaborating with business analysts, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality Oracle solutions.
