Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and TimeofFlight Diffraction (TOFD) inspections in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Ensure accurate detection and characterization of defects in welded joints pipelines pressure vessels and other components.
- Interpret evaluate and document test results and provide comprehensive reports to clients and management.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and functionality compliance as per regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and execute inspection schedules efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety and quality protocols to ensure compliance with workplace and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians when required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to testing equipment or techniques during field operations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Metallurgical or related fields is preferred.
- Certification:
- ASNT Level 2 or
- BCN Level 2 certification in PAUT/TOFD.
- ASNT Level 2 or
- A minimum of 5 years of handson experience in PAUT/TOFD inspection.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (e.g. ASME API AWS).
Skills Required:
- Indepth knowledge of PAUT and TOFD techniques and equipment.
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills for defect evaluation.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed inspection reports using advanced reporting software.
- Excellent problemsolving skills to address technical challenges in the field.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in field environments.
