Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN helping them engage with classroom activities and ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
- Assisting the class teacher in differentiating learning materials and adapting teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
- Helping students overcome learning challenges providing emotional and academic support to enhance their confidence and independence.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress working closely with the SENCo and other staff members to contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Encouraging positive behavior and fostering a safe inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported in their learning journey.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with additional learning needs is beneficial but not essential.
- A passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them achieve their full potential.
- Patience empathy and the ability to work collaboratively with staff parents and external agencies.
- Strong communication skills and a positive proactive approach to working in a classroom setting.
- A clear DBS check
- Legal right to work within the UK
