Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive TOC Watch Specialist to support the monitoring and management of the nations transportation systems. In this role you will be responsible for identifying reporting and assessing incidents accidents or potential threats to transportation system integrity. This is a critical position to ensure rapid response and informed decisionmaking during emergency or crisis situations affecting transportation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and relay information from various communications systems including email secure email telephone facsimile highfrequency radio satellite and secure/unsecure Video Teleconferences (VTCs) following TOC Standard Operating Procedures.
- Enhance situational awareness and emergency management efforts by identifying and sharing pertinent information with departmental decisionmakers.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with personnel from other federal and state agencies establishing the client as a central point for information exchange.
- Utilize the Webbased Emergency Operations Center (WebEOC) for reporting statistical analysis and archival purposes.
- Review and recommend updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) checklists and templates to improve operations and watch operation skills.
- Prepare and distribute critical reports and alerts including briefings for senior leadership such as the Secretary of Transportation National Security Council and Congressional leaders during highstakes events.
- Manage and act on Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly coordinating with Operating Administrations and partner agencies.
- Ensure timely accurate and coordinated reports presentations and briefings for the Secretary of Transportation.
- Initiate and troubleshoot nonsecure and secure VTCs including rekeying encryption devices and managing peripherals as needed.
- Assist in emergency message distribution using established contact lists to notify DOT employees and onsite contractor staff in specific scenarios.
- Maintain access to essential communication systems including Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS) accounts.
- Participate actively in TOC exercises and drills demonstrating compliance with departmental processes and requests.
Must Haves
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Clearance: Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance at the time of hire.
- This role requires individuals who are comfortable working in highstakes environments possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to coordinate with multiple teams and agencies.
Location: Onsite work in Washington D.C.
