Job Description

This is a remote position.

Transcription Services

  • Accurately transcribe legal dictations correspondence and case notes from audio recordings.
  • Ensure all transcriptions are clear errorfree and formatted according to specified templates.
  • Proofread and edit transcriptions to maintain highquality standards.

Document Preparation and Management

  • Assist in preparing legal documents correspondence and other materials as required.
  • Organise and maintain electronic filing systems for efficient document retrieval.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with formatting terminology and confidentiality standards.

Client and Team Communication

  • Collaborate with legal professionals to clarify dictations and resolve ambiguities in audio files.
  • Liaise with clients and external stakeholders as needed to gather information or confirm details.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a legal transcriptionist legal assistant or in a similar role.
  • Excellent English language skills (written and verbal) with a strong ability to write in conversational Australian English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
  • Experience with transcription software or legal practice management tools (e.g. ActionStep or similar).
  • A paralegal qualification or experience in a legal environment is highly regarded.
  • Previous experience communicating directly with clients in a professional setting.
