Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Labor & Employment Litigator to join our team as a Partner or Of Counsel in San Diego. In this pivotal role you will leverage your extensive legal expertise to manage complex cases provide strategic guidance and spearhead litigation efforts while enhancing our firms reputation for legal excellence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for seasoned Californiabased employment litigators regardless of the size of their portable book of business. Youll have the chance to defend a wide variety of employment cases across the state deliver topnotch client service and collaborate with a highly skilled team in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Litigation: Handle a diverse range of employment law cases from start to finish. Responsibilities include legal research developing case strategies drafting documents such as pleadings and motions and managing discovery including electronic evidence.
    • Advocacy and Representation: Represent managementside clients in mediations arbitrations and trials. Be prepared to handle all phases of litigation and consistently provide strong advocacy while maintaining high ethical standards.
    • Case Management: Oversee a broad caseload that includes matters like wrongful termination discrimination and wage & hour disputes. Manage cases from inception through trial.
    • Supervision: Guide and supervise junior attorneys and paralegals in their litigation tasks.
    • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients providing them with strategic guidance throughout their cases.

Skills and Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
    • Admission to the California Bar is mandatory.
    • A minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in employment litigation.
    • Indepth knowledge of California and federal employment laws as well as civil procedure and trial practices.
    • Strong legal research writing and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage cases independently while also being a team player.
    • Experience working with clients directly on employment law matters.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Class Action / PAGA and/or employee mobility experience is preferred but not required.
