About the role
BYDis looking for an R&D Project Engineer Commercial Vehicleis responsible for the OnBoard system of Commercial Bus. The role supports the HQ R&D team to finish the design and commissioning of the OnBoard system by checking the data of OnBoard system with final customer and suppliers. Ultimately installing customer or supplier products correctly in BYD Buses and ensuring that they work properly.
Work Location: Hounslow/Uxbridge London
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
- Confirm the configuration of the OnBoard system with the customers.
- Communicate and confirm product data with the customer and suppliers such as product drawings product installation manuals and commissioning manuals.
- Provide feedback of the OnBoard system to the HQ R&D team and assist the Chinese team in completing the design.
- When the factory produces the vehicle inspect the function of the OnBoard system in the vehicle contact the relevant parties for rectification for any problems.
- Responsible for dealing with and solving major aftersales problems in the market related to the technical side.
- The role reports to the UK R&D Project Manager.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Bachelors/HBO degree in electrical engineering or similar
- 12 years of electrical test engineering experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
- Very clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates strong judgment and problemsolving competencies
- Excellent organization skills and able to work well in a team setting
- Willing to take business travel
- Creative mind and strong analytical skills
- Understanding of UK legislation and standards
- Prove your righttowork in the U.K. is essential
