The structured Ph.D. program (Ph.D. in Medical Research) combines highly interdisciplinary research projects with specialized training in the pathophysiology of the lung and the entire discipline of toxicology through an internationally renowned research network. The aim of the Research Training Group is to train a new generation of highly qualified toxicologists.
RESEARCH PROJECT:
Identification of interaction partners of the proinflammatory P2X7 receptor by proximity labeling
This research project aims to identify the molecular mechanisms of P2X7 receptor signaling and its involvement in immune cell function and lung diseases. The P2X7 receptor is an ATPgated ion channel and key mediator of inflammation. Its activation results in a variety of effects (e.g. cytokine secretion cell morphology changes apoptosis) that are incompletely understood (Kopp et al. Front. Mol. Neurosci.). In the proposed project we aim to generate validate and use TurboIDfused P2X7 receptors to identify components of the P2X7 signaling complex that mediate this effect.
Personal Investigator: Prof. Dr. phil. nat. Annette Nicke
The institute is located in the middle of Munich and the Bavarian lakes and Alps can be easily reached by public transport in less than 1h.
We are looking forward to receiving your application until 31.12.2024.
Best wishes
