Job Description

  • Initial Contract Duration: 01 January 2025 31 December 2025
  • Extension term details: Up to a maximum of 24 months extension option
  • Location: CanberraAdelaideMelbourneBrisbane
  • Security Requirements: Must have Negative Vetting Level 1
  • Working Arrangement: Candidates must work from Services Australia s offices in one of the nominated locations a minimum of 3 days per week.

SoftLabs is seeking
EL1 Application Packagers for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in Canberra Adelaide Melbourne and Brisbane





Requirements

The Application Packaging Engineer works under the limited direction of senior staff. They exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. Decision making is substantially dependent on judgement skills and knowledge.

Key duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Automate the installation and configuration of Windows applications (package) configure security patch delivery Windows feature updates drivers language packs and vulnerability fixes for both windows servers and desktop in a format compatible with Intune and SCCM/MECM.
  • Design develop coordinate and manage application packaging projects.
  • Knowledge of and experience with writing remediation scripts and installation scripts with PowerShell.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and remediation efforts on major Windows application packaging and deployments.
  • Diagnose Windows application deployment issues and coordinate package improvements/fixes.




Mandatory Criteria

Minimum of 3 years experience in the following areas:

  • Automate the installation and configuration of Windows applications (package) configure security patch delivery Windows feature updates drivers language packs and vulnerability fixes for both windows servers and desktop in a format compatible with Intune and SCCM/MECM.
  • Design develop coordinate and manage application packaging projects.
  • Knowledge of and experience with writing remediation scripts and installation scripts with PowerShell.




Weighted Criteria

  • Enterprise knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems Image Management Application Packaging & Distribution performance monitoring tools in a large distributed environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Active Directory / Intune/ DHCP / DNS / Group Policy in a distributed environment.
  • Expert knowledge of industry deployment tools such as SCCM or any other enterprise application deployment and automation systems.
  • Experience with enterprisescale zerotouch Windows application deployments.
  • Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis and remediation efforts on major Windows application packaging and deployments.
  • Diagnose Windows application deployment issues and coordinate package improvements/fixes.
