Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in embedded testing with a strong focus on firmware validation protocol testing and test automation. This role involves working with industrial embedded devices control systems and performing extensive validation using tools such as oscilloscopes and signal generators. Handson experience in testing scripting and troubleshooting in a lab environment is essential.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform firmware testing and validation of industrial embedded devices including PLCs Motion Logic controllers RTUs HMI and SCADA systems.
• Conduct embedded protocol validation including timing analysis and testing for protocols such as BACnet OPCUA MODBUS.
• Test connectivity protocols including Ethernet RS485 RS232 CAN.
• Use Signal Generators Oscilloscopes and other lab equipment for testing.
• Engage in Hardware in Loop (HIL) Testing and utilize inhouse tools and simulators for testing procedures.
• Design and prepare test labs; troubleshoot issues during testing.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to ensure product quality and standards.
• Develop and automate test cases translating requirements into effective test scenarios.
• Utilize Python for communication and test automation tasks focusing on industrial devices.
• Collaborate within the Agile testing process and manage tasks using tools like GIT for version control and JIRA for bug tracking.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 58 years in Embedded Testing with strong knowledge of firmware testing and industrial embedded devices.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using Signal Generators and Oscilloscopes.
  • Strong understanding of protocol testing (e.g. BACnet OPCUA MODBUS).
  • Handson experience in control systems and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) including Batch processing and process engineering.
  • Python scripting for test automation and communication with industrial devices.
• Tools and Methodologies:
  • Experience with HIL Testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Proficiency in GIT or other software configuration management tools and JIRA for tracking bugs.
  • Familiarity with Agile and other SDLC testing processes.

Educational Background:

• Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering Computer Science or a related field or equivalent technical certification.
