Job Description

Join our team and support students in various school districts across Illinois!

The Special Education Teacher will support students with a wide range of learning emotional physical and developmental disabilities. In this role you will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) collaborate closely with school staff and families and apply proven teaching strategies to encourage both academic and social development. You ll establish a structured supportive classroom environment that nurtures student growth and design IEPs tailored to each student s unique needs. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and regularly updating IEP goals are essential responsibilities. Through regular assessments you ll evaluate students strengths and growth areas adapting curriculum and teaching methods as needed to meet diverse learning requirements. Additionally you will provide emotional and social support fostering a positive inclusive learning atmosphere. Close collaboration with general education teachers specialists and family members is key to fully supporting each student s educational journey.

Requirements

This position requires a valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education as well as strong skills in communication organization and teamwork. A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field is required with prior experience working with children with special needs preferred. This role is ideal for educators passionate about making a lasting impact in the lives of students with special needs!
