Job Description
RecruitNet International Ltd is specializing in relocating qualified professionals throughout Ireland and overseas
We are currently recruiting Paediatric Nurse Home Support for a 16 year old girl residing in the Gormanston area in Co. Meath. This child moved to Ireland from Ukraine in February of this year. She has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy spastic tetraplegia epilepsy tracheostomy gastrostomy feeds. This child requires full nursing care is non mobile and nonverbal.
This package consists of nursing (RCN/RGN/RNID) for 7 x 8 hour nights and 3 x 8 hour midweek days (total of 80 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to a child
- Gastrostomy tube feeds via feeding pump
- Competent in all tracheostomy care changing of ties suctioning and changing tube in an emergency
- Management and administration of nebs and suctioning
- Monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
- Pressure area care
- Medication Management
- Seizure management
- Care of a child with a disability
- Manage enteral feeding and medication
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Manage seizures
- Provide play and family support
- Provide excellent evidencebased nursing care implementing all aspects of care plans based on the needs identified.
- Prioritise the needs and comfort of the client.
- Promote abilities independence and safeguard the clients interests always
- Work closely in partnership with family members and the clinical team
- Communicate effectively with the client family clinical team and MDT reporting on the clients clinical needs as required.
- Maintain accurate and professional clinical note
Requirements
- Current registration on the live register of NMBI
- RGN/RCN trained
- Paediatric nursing experience is desirable
- Previous experience in home care is an advantage full training and support provided
