Responsibilities:
- Implement individual education programs and evaluate student progress for students in special education.
- Assess the special needs of individual students and collaborate with staff to meet those needs.
- Maintain appropriate student records.
- Provide instructions to classroom and 11 paraprofessionals and foster a team atmosphere.
- Motivate students through positive feedback based on their I.E.P.s and schoolwide PBIS if appropriate.
- Participate in district and school committees.
- Maintain a clean attractive and safe learning environment.
- Cultivate positive relationships and work with parents to achieve student objectives.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Supervise pupils in outofclassroom activities during the assigned workday.
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Engage in faculty committees and sponsor student activities.
- Maintain professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and in selfselected professional growth activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Education or similar.
- 2 years of experience working in a public school district.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS) endorsement.
