Job Description

This is a remote position.

The Occupational Therapist provides therapeutic interventions to individuals of all ages who are experiencing physical emotional or cognitive challenges that impact their ability to perform daily activities. The role focuses on helping patients improve their functional abilities through personalized therapy plans adaptive techniques and the use of assistive equipment. The OT collaborates with patients families and healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes promoting independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients physical emotional and cognitive abilities to determine their functional levels and limitations.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs including goals for improving mobility strength coordination and daily living skills.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic activities and exercises that improve functional abilities including tasks related to selfcare work and leisure.
  • Provide instruction on the use of adaptive equipment and strategies to help patients regain independence in their daily activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet therapeutic goals.
  • Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve functional abilities and promote longterm wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists speech therapists and doctors to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient evaluations treatment plans progress notes and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for ongoing therapy or assistive devices needed at home or in community settings.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in occupational therapy techniques equipment and best practices to provide cuttingedge care.
  • Advocate for patients needs and coordinate care with external resources such as community programs or support services.
  • Ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations as well as professional standards of practice.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain licensure and improve skills.
  • Provide input to improve clinical processes patient care strategies and therapy tools used in the practice.
