We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Solar Sales Consultant to join our team and drive solar energy adoption across residential and commercial sectors in Australia. In this role you will identify new business opportunities educate clients on solar energy solutions and close sales of solar systems. As the face of the company you will play a key role in promoting sustainable energy solutions and driving the future of clean energy in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Actively prospect for new clients both residential and commercial through outbound calls networking referrals and partnerships. Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline.
- Consultations & Assessments: Meet with potential customers to conduct onsite assessments analyse their energy needs and propose the most appropriate solar solutions tailored to their requirements.
- Solar System Design & Proposal Creation: Work with the design team to create custom solar proposals that include system size cost expected savings and financing options. Provide detailed financial models and energy savings projections.
- Sales Presentations & Negotiation: Present solar energy proposals to clients in a compelling manner addressing any questions concerns and objections. Close sales by negotiating terms and finalising contracts.
- Customer Education: Educate clients on the benefits of solar energy government incentives (e.g. STCs state rebates) financing options and environmental impact. Guide them through the installation process and financial savings over time.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain longterm relationships with customers by providing excellent service throughout the sales cycle and beyond. Follow up postinstallation to ensure client satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends technological advances and regulatory changes in the Australian solar market. Keep up to date with state and federal incentives and rebates available to homeowners and businesses.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelors degree in Business Environmental Science Sustainability or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience:
2 years of experience in sales preferably in the renewable energy solar or construction industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2C or B2B environment.
Solar Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of solar technology components (panels inverters batteries) and energy storage systems.
Familiarity with Australian solar market dynamics including key incentives such as STCs (Smallscale Technology Certificates) Feedin Tariffs (FiTs) and government rebates.
Sales & Negotiation Skills:
Strong ability to prospect engage and close sales.
Proven experience in preparing and presenting proposals and negotiating contracts.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in a simple clientfriendly manner.
Ability to build rapport and trust with a wide range of clients.
CustomerFocused:
A customerfirst mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and offer tailored solar solutions.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint).
Basic understanding of solar installation processes and technologies is an advantage.
Drivers License:
A valid Australian drivers license and reliable vehicle for site visits and client meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within the Australian solar industry.
- NABERS Clean Energy Council or other relevant certifications.
- Bilingual skills (e.g. Mandarin Spanish) are a plus.
- Experience in commercial and industrial solar sales is a bonus.
