Position Summary
Justice By Carter is seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Legal Assistant to join our team.
We are specifically interested in remote candidates with Legal Experience and interest in Family Law.
The Intake Specialist will be the first point of contact for potential clients and plays a critical role in creating a positive and professional first impression. This role involves gathering essential case information screening potential clients and coordinating initial consultations to ensure a smooth intake process for new clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills be highly organized and have a strong ability to empathize with clients who may be experiencing stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Prepare and format legal documents including correspondence pleadings and contracts.
- Case Management: Assist attorneys with case file management organize and maintain electronic and physical files and monitor case deadlines.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather information provide updates and schedule appointments.
- Court Filings: Prepare and submit court filings in compliance with relevant deadlines and court requirements.
- Legal Research: Conduct preliminary legal research as directed by attorneys to support case preparation.
- Scheduling: Coordinate meetings hearings and other appointments for attorneys clients and witnesses.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in a law firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite legal research software and case management systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys staff and clients maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
