Job Summary:Our Client is a dredging company located in owerri and they are seeking an Accountant to join their team. They are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Accountant to join their company and handle all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain financial records including general ledger entries accounts payable and receivable payroll and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and ensure timely and accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Develop and manage budgets financial forecasts and variance analyses.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles company policies and relevant regulations.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors providing necessary documentation and information.
- Manage cash flow ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Handle invoicing payments and collections to maintain efficient cash management.
- Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Additional certification (such as ICAN) is a requirement
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience preferably in the distribution or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills and Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, Skill and/or ability required to perform this job satisfactorily A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and a current practicing license in Nigeria. A minimum of four years of post-qualification experience, with a strong background in land title registration, conveyancing, and corporate law. Proficiency in relevant legal software and databases. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, or a related field.
