Job Description
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student s needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and modify instructional strategies to keep students on track.
- Foster a safe encouraging classroom atmosphere where students feel empowered to learn and grow.
- Collaborate with general educators and specialists to integrate inclusive practices and align goals.
- Manage classroom behavior maintain a positive environment and support students emotional and social wellbeing.
- Track and document progress on IEP goals ensuring compliance and fostering effective learning outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Requirements
- Have an Illinois PEL with a special education specialty
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
- A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required; a Masters degree is a plus
