Job Description

In this role you ll play a pivotal part in supporting students with diverse learning needs by building a structured positive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence. As an LBS1 Education Specialist you ll design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to help each student meet their unique learning goals.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role as you ll work alongside families paraprofessionals therapists and general education teachers to ensure consistent holistic support for each student. You ll manage a supportive classroom environment actively promoting positive behavior and nurturing a safe inclusive space where students can thrive. Regular IEP meetings will allow you to provide insights adjust goals and monitor educational progress.

Requirements

Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role

Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities

A bachelors Degree from an accredited university is required. Masters degree is a plus

Have or be eligible to apply for an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
