Position Summary:
The New H.O.P.E. CDC Food Pantry Worker will work under the management of the Food Pantry Supervisor to meet the weekly food orders of clients. This position is part of the pantry staff and facilitates a positive weekly experience for clients team members and volunteers.
As part of the team one will ensure adherence to the first in first out principles of product rotation and help each member have a positive engagement opportunity.
This role performs food pantry and warehouse work necessary to provide food assistance to clients including:
Product sorting and storage stocking pantry shelves and coolers discarding waste.
Work to insure effective and efficient pantry and warehouse operations.
Supports and assists Food Pantry volunteers and staff in completing all tasks.
Responsibilities:
Sort pantry items makes food boxes quality check fresh produce prepare small and large healthy food boxes
Ability to work in a safe manner and complies with all safety rules and procedures. Promote team safety.
Conduct housekeeping to assure that work areas meet USDA standards for cleanliness and that areas are organized clean safe and clutter free.
Performs tasks to keep the property clean & safe including but not limited to trash removal and parking lot clean up as needed.
Represent the organization at all times in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with community staff agency partners store personnel clients and volunteers.
Maintain all necessary records including disbursement receipts client logs timesheets etc.
Attends staff and training meetings as directed.
Perform extra assignments as needed or requested.
Remain uptodate with required software platforms and systems.
Qualifications:
Adheres to all policies and procedures.
Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to operate technology digital tools and platforms
Must be honest fair and courteous
Consistent in following the rules and guidelines in handling and disbursing boxes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to problem solve and be agile
Ability to work under demanding and stressful situations
Ability to adapt to changing environments and work processes
Able to work as a team player
Willing to follow directions
Must be dependable motivated and a self starter.
Flexible and able to work some evenings and weekends as required
Reliable personal transportation required
Valid Drivers License driving company vehicle may be required
