Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of foul sewerage systems including gravity sewers pumping stations and associated infrastructure for both public and private sector projects.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrological analysis including stormwater management and sewer capacity assessments.
- Manage project deliverables ensuring highquality standards ontime completion and compliance with project specifications and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers ensuring continuous professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including civil structural and environmental engineers) to deliver integrated solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with clients regulatory authorities and stakeholders to understand project requirements provide technical advice and ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including drainage water quality standards and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and review detailed design reports technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration for construction phase activities.
- Stay up to date with industry developments technologies and best practices
Key Qualifications:
- Degree: A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and delivery of foul sewerage systems preferably within a consultancy or engineering design environment.
- Proven experience in project management design coordination and technical leadership within the water engineering sector. Chartered
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) membership is highly desirable not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of design software and tools used in sewerage systems (e.g. MicroDrainage SewerCAD AutoCAD Civil 3D etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards codes of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and environmental considerations in sewerage design.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders (e.g. local councils water authorities and environmental bodies).
