Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating financial data, conducting in-depth analysis, and providing actionable insights to help guide investment decisions and financial strategies. Your ability to work with complex financial data, communicate findings effectively, and make informed recommendations will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Analysis & Recommendations:
   You will analyze financial data and historical trends to assess investment opportunities, identify risks, and provide recommendations. Your ability to assess financial forecasts and business performance will be key in planning for the company's future growth.

2. Financial Modeling & Reporting:
   A significant part of your role will involve building and maintaining financial models to forecast future financial performance. You will design and update spreadsheets, graphs, and other financial models that will help inform business decisions and track performance over time.

3. Communication & Collaboration:
   Effective communication is essential in this role. You will regularly interact with clients, managers, and investors to present financial reports, explain complex concepts, and recommend investment options. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain financial data in a clear, concise manner are critical to success.

4. Organization & Record-Keeping:
   You will be responsible for managing and organizing financial records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all reporting. Keeping track of business processes, financial data, and industry benchmarks will be crucial in maintaining operational efficiency.

5. Problem-Solving:
   Financial analysts are often called upon to resolve complex financial issues, whether it's managing company debt, identifying cost-saving opportunities, or adjusting financial models to account for unforeseen changes in the market. Your problem-solving skills will be pivotal in ensuring the organization makes informed financial decisions.

6. Accounting & Financial Statement Analysis:
   You will utilize your accounting knowledge to interpret and analyze financial statements, ensuring that all reports are accurate and in compliance with relevant financial standards. Your ability to identify trends, variances, and potential issues will be critical for making sound financial decisions.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial analysis software
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• 4+ years of experience in HR/Data analytics or similar fields with a strong understanding of people operations metrics, KPIs and data analytics
• Expert-level Excel / Google sheets knowledge (pivot tables, x-lookup, v-lookup, index, matching, filtering, lambda functions, testing and correlating functions)
• Experience pulling, standardising, synthesising, and manipulating data from different systems (Hubspot, Netsuite, Grafana, HiBob, Greenhouse, LinkedIn, BuiltIn, Gong, Metaview, etc.)
• Mathematical and statistical skills for hypothesis testing
• A data-driven approach. Ability to justify decisions using concrete metrics
