Roles and responsibilities

As a Protocol Architect for a restaking protocol, your primary responsibility is to lead the design and development of a secure, high-performance protocol aimed at maximizing yield while effectively managing associated risks. Drawing on your expertise in smart contract development, blockchain infrastructure, and DeFi, you will guide the creation of a robust protocol that can scale with demand while ensuring stability.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with backend engineers and risk teams to build comprehensive risk analysis tools and APIs, ensuring the protocol can accurately assess and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. You will also coordinate with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration of the protocol's functionality into user interfaces, prioritizing usability and efficiency.

In addition, you will engage with external partners to gather insights into their specific restaking needs, iterating on the protocol design based on real-world data and feedback. Your role will involve leveraging advanced simulation tools and modeling frameworks to rigorously test the protocol’s performance and resilience, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security and efficiency.

A significant part of your responsibilities will also include mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence. Your ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision will be key in driving the success of the protocol and supporting the broader DeFi ecosystem.

Desired candidate profile

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Solidity, Rust, and blockchain development frameworks like Foundry or Hardhat.
• Proven experience in designing blockchain-based protocols, particularly in DeFi or staking.
• Strong analytical skills with a strategic approach to optimizing protocol performance and minimizing risks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of economic security models and blockchain consensus mechanisms.
• Experience with DeFi protocols (e.g., AMMs, DEXs, lending platforms) and their risk profiles.
• Familiarity with blockchain security, cryptographic principles, and smart contract auditing.
• Knowledge of game theory, incentive mechanisms, and decentralized governance.
• Background in statistical modeling, machine learning, or data analysis for large datasets.
