The Payroll and Benefits Specialist (EMEA) plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation across the region, including salaries, wages, deductions, and benefits. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations and labor laws in various European countries to maintain compliance and meet legal obligations.
The specialist will work closely with the payroll provider, DEEL, to process payroll in multiple EMEA countries, ensuring all taxes, employee benefits, leave entitlements, and deductions are handled correctly. It is essential to maintain precise payroll records and ensure timely and accurate data entry into the payroll system. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for generating detailed payroll reports and addressing any payroll-related queries from employees, providing exceptional customer service to resolve issues promptly.
A key aspect of the role is to ensure continuous compliance with local labor laws, including staying updated on any changes in payroll legislation. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will communicate any updates to stakeholders and collaborate with the HR team to ensure employee records are accurate and up to date. The specialist will also take the lead on special projects aimed at improving payroll processes and efficiency across the region.
Managing benefits is another critical function of the role. The specialist will oversee the relationship with benefit brokers and vendors, ensuring that benefit programs are competitive and compliant with local legislation. This includes evaluating brokers, overseeing benefits renewal and approval processes, and coordinating discussions between the broker, local HR teams, and regional leadership. The specialist will be responsible for the planning, administration, and delivery of employee benefits, retirement plans, time-off programs, and leave processes. They will also manage disability claims and ensure that all benefits and leave policies comply with local legal requirements.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be involved in special projects and other duties as assigned. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively with various teams. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of additional languages such as French and/or German is highly desirable.
To be considered for this role, candidates must reside in one of the following locations: the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, or the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of European labor legislation and a proven track record in managing payroll and benefits functions across multiple countries.
