Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Resident Support Engineer (RSE) to join our team. This position requires providing onsite technical support to Commvault customers focusing on the entire suite of Commvault applications including Simpana. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in backup administration and troubleshooting within a highly secure and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the Commvault environment ensuring smooth daytoday operations
- Review and analyze daily backup reports to resolve failures and improve job success rates
- Collect analyze and document details of the current Commvault environment
- Evaluate customer policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Commvaults best practices
- Troubleshoot and optimize backup/restore performance issues
- Develop solutions for complex data movement challenges such as WANbased backups
- Take ownership of trouble tickets and drive them to resolution
Who You Are:
- Experience: 2 years in Backup Administration ideally with Commvault Simpana; Commvault certifications are a plus
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data lifecycle management disaster recovery and software performance tuning
- Hardware Exposure: Familiarity with Storage Arrays Storage Area Networks Servers and NAS devices
- ProblemSolving: Confident in logically troubleshooting IT issues with strong documentation skills and the ability to work independently
- Communication Skills: Ability to translate technical details into business terms for upper management
- Technical Certifications: Advanced skills in Windows server administration (Microsoft or other certifications a plus)
- Virtualization: Handson experience with virtualization platforms such as HyperV VMware and/or Citrix XenServer in complex environments
- Backup Software Knowledge: Exposure to backup solutions from Symantec EMC IBM CA or other vendors
- Security Certification: CompTIA Security certification is preferred
- Clearance Requirement: Active government Top Secret security clearance is required
- Onsite Requirement: Ability to be onsite 5 days a week
