Job Description
Reporting to the Portfolio General Manager for Capitaland we are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to join our dynamic professional team. This role is suitable for an astute & experienced operational professional who understands the intrinsic nature of an established building & the requirements of a 5 star property.
What is the role all about:
- Leading and developing a team of maintenance professionals
- Leading a team to plan and carry out preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort
- Designing and implementing solutions to improve energy management and conservation
- Contractor negotiations
- ESG Management
- Ensuring the hotel upholds OH&S and fire safety responsibilities
- Audit reporting and monthly maintenance reporting
- Ensure the quality of records for repair work and daily checks as required by local
- Council & Government specifications
- Liaising closely with other departments to ensure minimal impact of repairs and maintenance on operations
- Researching recommending and liaising with the Portfolio General Manager regarding procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department
- Carrying out project work as required and/or as required
- Prepare and submit & manage capex proposals
Qualifications :
- A relevant tertiary qualification is essential
- Experience in leading a team
- Exceptional communication skills
- Experience in management of a maintenance function within a large multistorey complex.
- Exceptional organisational skills as well as the ability to multi task.
- The ability to carry out emergency maintenance works outside of normal working hours in the event of a full power failure evacuation fire system reset and/or failure of mechanical systems.
- A hands on approach to solving problems
