Reservoir Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

Bring new production to the offshore fields to extend their life and improve profitability; looking at the potential for Development. Ensure optimization of the asset and cost reduction. Ensure the progress of development opportunities from the earliest stages all the way through to project sanction. Initiate, lead, and perform integrated reservoir studies, reservoir Management and perform Petroleum Engineering optimization, improvement & debottlenecking studies including new technology trial and pilot projects of Qatar Energy offshore operated oil fields to optimize development plans.. Steward and formulate detailed/integrated development plans for both developed and undeveloped hydrocarbons resources (oil and gas). Lead staff coaching, development and mentoring. Develop concepts and lead detailed/integrated development studies for developed and undeveloped hydrocarbon resources.
Hand on business planning, reserves reporting process, and forecasting methods. Economic evaluation. Experience in integrated surface / subsurface production system modelling. proved record working with surface facilities / process design disciplines. Experience of developing Petroleum Eng technical standards/manuals/guidelines. Project management certification is a plus.

. Reservoir Characterization and Modeling:

• Reservoir Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to understand the characteristics of the reservoir. This includes studying reservoir rock properties (e.g., porosity, permeability), fluid properties (e.g., oil, gas, water), and pressure conditions.
• Reservoir Simulation: Develop and run computer-based reservoir simulations to model fluid flow, predict future production, and optimize recovery methods. Software tools such as ECLIPSE, CMG, PETREL, and TNavigator are commonly used for these simulations.
• Reservoir Mapping: Use seismic and well log data to create accurate reservoir models, including mapping structures, faults, and fluid contacts, to ensure a clear understanding of the reservoir's behavior.

2. Production Forecasting and Optimization:

• Production Forecasting: Use reservoir simulation models and other forecasting techniques to predict future production rates, recovery factors, and reservoir performance over time. This involves estimating how much oil and gas can be extracted and over what time frame.
• Reservoir Performance Monitoring: Monitor reservoir performance by analyzing production data, pressure trends, and fluid levels in real-time. This helps to detect any issues like water encroachment, gas breakthrough, or declining pressure.
• Optimization of Production Techniques: Recommend and implement strategies to optimize well production, such as adjusting well placements, drilling new wells, changing injection strategies, or utilizing enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods like water flooding, CO2 injection, or chemical flooding.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering preferably. Desirably MSc in petroleum pngineering

Experience & Skills
minimum of 20 years of experience in reservoir engineering including Master in Dynamic simulation (black oil and compositional), SCAL modelling, PVT modelling, Reservoir Management, and Integrated Reservoir Studies. Expert in field development planning. Significant experience working on monitoring and managing mature fracture carbonate oil fields under waterflood. Exposure and previous working experience to project maturation stages (Identify, Select, Define, Execute, and Operate stages. Ability to contribute to FEED, EPIC, and decommissioning offshore projects. Proved track of abilities in leading projects, research & value creation and solving complex problems utilizing cross functional knowledge with experience in mid-large size brownfield / greenfield offshore projects.
