Perform Recruitment is currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Health and Safety Officer on behalf of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce environmental health and safety (EHS) policies procedures and programs.
- Perform EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Deliver EHS training sessions to employees.
- Foster and instill a strong health and safety culture among all employees.
- Oversee daily EHS operations and tasks.
- Regularly review and revise company Risk Assessments Safe Operating Procedures Health & Safety Policies and the Safety Statement.
- Stay informed about legislative updates and implement necessary changes.
- Implement and update EHS control measures as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of the facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate incidents accidents and near misses determine root causes and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training on safety procedures to all staff.
- Work closely with management to develop and execute risk management strategies.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Third Level Qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation regulations standards and best practices.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong verbal written communication and IT skills.
- Proficiency in conducting Health & Safety investigations.
- Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
