Job Description

RAY.BBDM is currently managing a search process for SBM Offshore a large listed multinational company who is looking for a Tax Reporting & Accounting Manager. SBM Offshores focus is to design supply install operate and maintain Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels which are essential to the offshore energy industries. The Tax Reporting & Accounting Manager will be a part of the Corporate Business and Solutions Center of SBM Offshore which has a global scope of Corporate and Finance activities.

Being in control of the Group Tax and Accounting reporting obligations at Group level the Tax Reporting & Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Being highly involved in the implementation and deployment of new tax reporting tools and being the interface between Finance and Group Tax teams on this process;
  • Supporting the finance team in yearend tax reporting deliverables;
  • Guiding the Close and Accounting teams and supporting them in the preparation of their deliverables in terms of tax reporting using your IFRS expertise in the context of IAS12 and tax reporting requirements;
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements as well as the Tax Compliance process upon request from Group Tax;
  • Translating tax structures into financial reporting processes;
  • Reviewing and preparing the tax position in the annual accounts (IFRS) and understanding the differences between result before tax at consolidated level and at statutory/tax level for the legal entities of the Group;
  • Using data extraction and software solutions to help finance and tax teams make optimal use of the data guaranteeing compliance and reporting obligations;
  • Improving existing internal tax reporting processes and setting up new ones when needed including providing training and coaching as well as leveraging on existing solutions within the company;
  • Advising and supporting finance and tax departments on various tax issues when it comes to crossfunctional questions;
  • Being gradually more involved in a variety of activities on a project basis such as optimizing and automating tax processes as well as advising on tax accounting related issues being a sparring partner between the different disciplines;
  • Working with highly specialized colleagues in tax reporting accounting and financial reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant academic background (Tax Accounting Finance or similar) and qualifications in Finance (i.e. CPA ACCA or equivalent);
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in tax reporting accounting reporting or similar;
  • Strong understanding and technical knowledge of IFRS;
  • Experience working in an international environment;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate both with upper management as well as with junior staff;
  • Interest in developing tax requirements and reporting skills;
  • Agile thinker and quick learner;
  • Selfmotivated proactive and able to function in a tight deadlineoriented environment;
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal;
  • Availability for occasional travels;
  • Availability to work in Porto Portugal.
