Knowledgeable of relevant international standards such as IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP and their application is necessary.
Provide a variety of Machinery Control Engineering support to contribute to department objectives in meeting Company strategy. Perform as Subject Matter Expert and as Technical Authority in Machinery control area.
Provide a variety of machinery control system engineering support to contribute to the division strategy and goals. That includes design reviews, studies, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
Define and document surveillance and administration programs for critical Control Systems to achieve high standards of reliability, availability, and cyber security.
Define and document best practices within the area of expertise and recommend performance improvement initiatives.
Act as Subject Matter Expert and/or as Technical Authority in area of specialization.
Manage plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities, meeting the section and division KPIs.
Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support their business objectives.
Control Systems Design and Implementation:
Proficient in designing control systems for industrial machinery, including motor control, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and automated equipment.
Experience with designing and optimizing control algorithms, such as PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers, or advanced model-based control techniques.
PLC Programming and Troubleshooting:
Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.) for controlling industrial machinery and processes.
Knowledge of ladder logic, functional block diagrams, and other PLC programming languages.
Automation and Robotics:
Expertise in robotics and industrial automation systems, including robotic arms, CNC machines, and other automated production systems.
Experience in integrating robots with machinery control systems for manufacturing automation.
SCADA Systems:
Understanding of SCADA systems and their use in monitoring and controlling machinery in real-time.
Knowledge of HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design and implementation for system operation and control.
Sensors and Actuators:
Proficiency in selecting and integrating sensors (temperature, pressure, proximity, etc.) and actuators (motors, solenoids, etc.) for machinery control.
Industrial Networks and Communication Protocols:
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, EtherCAT, CANBus, etc., to enable communication between machines and control systems.
