Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

As an FTA and Trade Compliance Expert, you will play a critical role in monitoring Free Trade Agreement (FTA) updates on a global scale. You will be tasked with understanding complex concepts such as bilateral and diagonal cumulation, different types of proofs of origin, and their benefits and impacts on clients. A crucial aspect of your role will involve determining whether products qualify for preferential origin status, which can significantly affect trade costs and compliance.

In addition to FTA compliance, you will engage in Global Trade Intelligence by proactively monitoring international laws that impact trade. Your insights will be vital in identifying potential compliance risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant regulations.

Your expertise will also be necessary for Workflow Management, where you will partner with the development team to optimize technical workflows. This collaboration will ensure that workflows are not only efficient but also aligned with regulatory requirements, minimizing the risk of compliance failures.

Data Management will be another key area of responsibility. You will manage data formats, processing procedures, and quality standards, all of which are essential for accurate compliance reporting. Your attention to detail will ensure that the organization maintains high data integrity throughout its operations.

Documentation is a critical function of your role, where you will develop clear and comprehensive documentation for all processes. This documentation must be easily accessible across the team, serving as a vital resource for compliance procedures and training.


Desired candidate profile

Effective Global Communication is essential in this position. You will liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, including data entry specialists, developers, regulatory authorities, and customers. Your ability to ensure clarity and foster collaboration will be key to maintaining seamless operations.

You will also be responsible for Issue Resolution, where you will address workflow issues, customer complaints, and data quality concerns. By implementing effective solutions, you will help maintain smooth compliance operations.

Ideal Profile

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Strong analytical skills are required, demonstrating expertise in reasoning, logic, and data organization. Additionally, effective communication skills are essential, with a proven ability to explain complex technical and legal processes to diverse audiences, both in written and verbal forms. Your blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills will be instrumental in driving compliance excellence within the organization.
