Duties and responsibilities: The Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) is seeking a program evaluator who will be responsible for the ongoing evaluation of mental health programs. Specifically this position will be responsible for evaluating the Healthy Transitions 2 grant the Early Diversion Grant and the Public Attitudes Survey.
This position will provide strategic and technical support to meet the goals and objectives of specific public health programs in alignment with the BHDDH mission and leading priorities. The position will plan create and manage evaluation data analysis interpretation of analysis and preparation of reports for both internal and external use. This position will evaluate and translate complex analyses into findings or conclusions and if appropriate recommendations that are concise and audiencespecific through presentations reports and publications.
Qualifications: A thorough knowledge of biostatistical and epidemiological methods and their applications to public health planning activity; a thorough knowledge of the techniques necessary for preparing and publishing statistical data; a working knowledge of electronic data processing (R or STATA); the ability to analyze health related data and evaluate the effectiveness of existing or proposed health programs; experience in producing effective reports for public health audiences policymakers and the public; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various agencies engaged in biostatistical activities and research; and related capacities and abilities.
Education and Experience: Such as may have been gained through a Masters Degree of Public Health or Public Administration from an accredited institution of higher learning with specialization in biostatistics epidemiology or public based research and experience such that may be gained through employment in a responsible administrative capacity involving the collection and analysis of healthrelated data. Or a combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
