Job Description

Idaho Department of Labor seeks a highly skilled Cloud Migration and Azure Architecture Consultant with expertise in designing planning and executing the migration of onpremise infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Onsite/Hybrid vs Fully Remote: Local candidates able to work onsite will be STRONGLY preferred as the client ideally seeks a candidate who can work in a hybrid capacity combining inoffice and remote work. If they are not able to find a qualified candidate who can work in this hybrid capacity they will then consider someone only interested in a fully remote arrangement.

HIGHLEVEL Azure Architect experienced with infrastructure and application migration to Azure Cloud environment is required. This is NOT a position for a senior developer looking to be an architect. The candidates should be high level architect consultants with significant experience in this specialized area. If they are not DO NOT SUBMIT THEM as we will not consider them for screening.

Overview:

We seek a highly skilled Cloud Migration and AzureArchitecture Consultant with expertise in designing planning and executingthe migration of onpremise infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure cloudplatform. The ideal candidate will deeply understand Azure servicescloudnative architecture and best practices for seamless migrations. Thisconsultant will be critical in guiding our organization through the transitionensuring scalability security and optimal performance throughout themigration process.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Migration Strategy and Planning:

Develop comprehensive migration strategies and roadmaps fortransitioning onpremise environments to Azure including workload assessmentsrisk management and phased migration plans.

Azure Architecture Design:

Design scalable secure and costeffective Azurearchitectures that align with industry best practices covering IaaS PaaS andSaaS solutions.

Migration Execution:

Lead and execute the endtoend migration process includingdata center consolidation replatforming rehosting and applicationmodernization to cloudnative solutions. Experience with Lift and Shift in an AVS environment and working with landing zones and multitenant environments.

Azure Infrastructure Optimization:

Evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructure for performancecost efficiency and high availability while maintaining the best Azuresecurity and governance practices.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with IT teams stakeholders and thirdpartyvendors to ensure smooth migration and adherence to timelines. Provide clearcommunication and regular updates to leadership.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

Create detailed technical documentation includingarchitecture diagrams migration guides and operational guides. Conducttraining sessions and workshops to transfer knowledge to inhouse teams.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in onpremises to cloud migration witha strong focus on Azure cloud environments.

Extensive knowledge of Azure services includingcomputing storage networking security and identity management.

Expertise in cloudnative architecture containerization(Kubernetes Docker) and microservices.

Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop hybrid cloudsetups and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform ARMtemplates).

Strong experience with migration methodologies tools andautomation (e.g. Azure Migrate ASR Azure DevOps).

Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability totroubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.

Strong communication and leadership skills with theability to guide crossfunctional teams.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: AzureSolutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highlypreferred.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with largescale multiphased cloudmigrations.

Background in IT infrastructure networking and systemsadministration.

Familiarity with governance security and compliance inregulated industries.

Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of security best practices for cloudenvironments.

Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments.
