- Monitors functioning lab tests performs simple corrective actions and contacts the appropriate individual when required. Cleans up as time allows.
Job purpose:
- Work with design/test engineers on building test fixtures debug circuitry test setup equipment maintenance and/or perform testing.
Essential job functions:
- Set up Dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing.
- Perform inspection and test as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction.
- Rework products per company and industry standards.
- Build test harnesses loads and circuit boards to support product design as required.
- Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
- Inform supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
- Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner.
- Design and build engineering test fixtures.
- Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and manager.
Required education:
- A.S. in Electronics a twoyear technical diploma equivalent military certification or equivalent experience
Required experience:
- Minimum one year of related experience in electronics manufacturing or engineering is required; three or more years of related experience is preferred
Required skills/abilities:
- Working knowledge of personal computers spreadsheets and word processing
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
- Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment and methods e.g. multimeters oscilloscopes etc.
- Handson experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
- Ability to read intermediate engineering documents e.g. schematics or diagrams
- Maintain necessary product records and documentation
- Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
- Ability to assemble and disassemble products
- Ability to maintain lab equipment
- Ability to perform mechanical work
- Ability to train an Electronics Technician I
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred skills:
- Ability to solder
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
