Job Description

Job title : Test Technician II

Client : Heavy machine manufacturing company

Duration : 1 year with possible extension

Location : Moline IL 61265

Job Description

Description:

  • Monitors functioning lab tests performs simple corrective actions and contacts the appropriate individual when required. Cleans up as time allows.

Job purpose:

  • Work with design/test engineers on building test fixtures debug circuitry test setup equipment maintenance and/or perform testing.

Essential job functions:

  • Set up Dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing.
  • Perform inspection and test as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction.
  • Rework products per company and industry standards.
  • Build test harnesses loads and circuit boards to support product design as required.
  • Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
  • Inform supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
  • Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner.
  • Design and build engineering test fixtures.
  • Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and manager.

Required education:

  • A.S. in Electronics a twoyear technical diploma equivalent military certification or equivalent experience

Required experience:

  • Minimum one year of related experience in electronics manufacturing or engineering is required; three or more years of related experience is preferred

Required skills/abilities:

  • Working knowledge of personal computers spreadsheets and word processing
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
  • Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment and methods e.g. multimeters oscilloscopes etc.
  • Handson experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
  • Ability to read intermediate engineering documents e.g. schematics or diagrams
  • Maintain necessary product records and documentation
  • Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble products
  • Ability to maintain lab equipment
  • Ability to perform mechanical work
  • Ability to train an Electronics Technician I
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred skills:

  • Ability to solder
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • 3D Printing Electronics Electrician/Electrical Contracting High Voltage Electrical Safety Electric motor repair Onroad/offroad Automotive Repair Communication/Networking hardware Computer repair Robotics Automation Mechatronics HVAC Farming
