Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Fiber Technician Team Lead with a primary focus on managing and enhancing our backbone and data center interconnect infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience with reputable companies in the fiber optics field strong leadership abilities and proficiency in rigging for fiber installation work. This role requires handson technical expertise team management skills and the ability to work safely at heights when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:

- Backbone and Data Center Interconnect Management
- Design install and maintain highcapacity backbone connections data center interconnects and associated infrastructure.
- Perform testing splicing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal connectivity and uptime.
- Rigging and Installation Work
- Execute rigging tasks to install safely and secure fiber equipment in a variety of environments including towers poles and other structures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices for working at heights.
- Team Leadership and Project Oversight
- Lead a team of fiber technicians providing training mentorship and performance evaluations.
- Manage project timelines resource allocation and coordination for all backbone and data center initiatives.
- Enforce safety protocols and industry standards in all technical operations.
- Technical Operations and Support
- Monitor and maintain network performance handling troubleshooting and maintenance for continuous service availability.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber networks ensuring reliability and high performance.
- Conduct quality checks on installations for compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of network infrastructure configurations rigging activities and performance metrics.
- Prepare reports and strategic recommendations for management on potential system improvements and expansions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years handson experience in fiber optics with prior work in reputable companies.
- Proficiency in rigging techniques for fiber installation and working safely at heights.
- Indepth knowledge of data center operations backbone network technologies and interconnect systems.
- Proven leadership project management and problemsolving abilities.
- CFOT Certified Fiber Optic Technician certification essential
- Workingatheights certification preferred.
- Advanced skills in network design troubleshooting and fiber optic testing tools.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work varying hours and travel as required.
- Strong communication skills for team collaboration and management reporting.
